Lisa brings 25 years of experience in agency, hospital, and private practice settings and an extensive background in dance, art, yoga, and NIA (neuromuscular integrative action) to her work as a therapist. She operates from a neuroscience-informed belief that most of the habits that people bring to their relationships are grounded in the ways their nervous systems operate. A long-time practitioner of mindfulness, Lisa has received extensive training in Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) and the work of Jon Kabat-Zinn. She helps people use mindfulness skills to be calmer, less reactive, more flexible, less preoccupied, and more capable of tuning into others. After years of working directly with children and their families, Lisa started the Couples Clinic with her husband Brent with the belief that one of the best ways to help kids is to reduce stress and increase harmony in the lives of their parents. Lisa has been a central contributor to Couples Clinic’s integration of neuroscience, couples therapy and mindfulness.
