Eileen Walts, M.S., received a Masters degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Northern Illinois University’s Accredited Graduate Program in Marriage and Family Therapy. She is a member of the Illinois Association for Marriage and Family Therapy (IAMFT) and the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy (AAMFT), and is an Associate Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist.
Eileen has found that couples often get “stuck” in their relationships due to old emotional wounds that have never been fully healed and make them either too sensitive or insensitive to each other. With the use of EMDR – Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing – and other interventions, she helps partners heal these wounds, enabling them to feel less threatened by each other and more flexible and accepting of their differences.
Eileen brings unbridled enthusiasm to her work, and her clients feel energized by her presence. They quickly sense that she’s interested in every detail of their stories, and they benefit from feeling truly understood. They also trust her because they know that she will be honest with her feedback.
