Four-Week Seminar on the Prerequisites for Relationship Success

(Click here for a Flyer about the Four-Week Seminar Series)

Everybody has an idea about what it takes to have a satisfying marriage, but for the first time in history, we have solid, empirical evidence about what it actually takes to make a marriage work.  Through a series of ground-breaking studies in which thousands of couples were followed over the course of their relationships, researchers have discovered exactly what people who succeed in their marriages do different than people who fail.  Researchers identified a crucial set of emotional habits that lead to satisfying relationships in over 90% of people that have been studied.   (Click here if you’d like a more information about this topic and a detailed description of the rationale for this seminar series)

This information is slowly filtering into public awareness, but most people still don’t know what the prerequisites for relationship success are.  In this practical, information-packed, 4-week seminar, you’ll learn how people who get their partners to treat them well go about doing it.  You’ll develop a thorough understanding of the crucial set of habits that lead to satisfying relationships.  By the end of this seminar series, you will know, at least in theory, what the most effective reaction to any challenging relationship situation is.  Of course, knowing what you need to change is one thing, doing it is another, especially at the moments when you’re upset. Studies show that when we get upset, most of us react in highly predictable, “knee jerk” ways.  In this seminar, you’ll also learn about new brain discoveries that have unlocked the secret of how “knee jerk” habits can be changed, and you’ll learn how to translate this knowledge into practical strategies for developing new habits of your own.

This 4-week class will be conducted in a seminar and discussion format. Video segments of couples who are upset with each other will be used to illustrate effective habits and the most common ineffective alternatives.   Whether you attend alone or with someone you’re in a relationship with, this seminar series will give you the basic knowledge you need to operate more effectively in your relationships.
